From all the things that I learning in this course I think this are the 3 things that will stay with me or that stood out the most to me. First thing that stood out to me was learning about “troublemakers” from Carla Shalaby. It made me realize that maybe the kids who get in trouble the most are the ones we should be listening to instead of punishing. they’re showing us that something in the system isn’t working and Instead of punishing them what we should do is paying more attention and taking the time to really listen to them because they could actually teach us a lot about what needs to change to make school better for everyone. If we actually paid attention to why they’re acting out, we could find the real problems and help them instead of pushing them away. Another reading that I think will stay with me is learning about ableims how even if we learn in different spaces everyone is still learning the same way.
